Health & Wellness Workshops – In Person


Keeping yourself healthy and raising a healthy family in today’s world is a challenge.  Plus, as we age, we really need to take control of our life.  Living healthy can and should be fun, easy and manageable.  As a Certified Dr Sears Health Coach, I can show you how to be healthy through L.E.A.N or Lifestyle, Exercise, Attitude and Nutrition.

You are busy. I hear you. But improving your family’s health doesn’t have to take more time, more work, or even more money. What it does require is the right information and tools to make eating and moving healthy, fun, and part of a healthy lifestyle that lasts. Don’t be fooled by the media, clever marketing strategies, or hearsay. Just because the label claims it is healthy or natural, doesn’t mean that it really is. Learn for yourself!

Know the facts:

  • Eating healthy saves you time. Quality food you buy in the grocery store can be put into a small cooler and taken along on road trips. No need to drive out of your way or take time to stop at a fast food restaurant.  When kids have food available when they are hungry, they will eat it.
  • Simple snacks are easy. There are thousands of simple, healthy, delicious and inexpensive snacks that take just a few minutes to put together or that can be made ahead of time.  Raw almonds, string cheese, baby carrots, apples, bananas, etc.  Learn more about selecting quality foods by using Traffic-Light Eating.
  • Nutrient dense foods can save you money.  High quality snacks include both green and yellow light foods that are packed with nutrients, so both you and your kids can feel satisfied by eating less.  Choosing foods high in protein, like nuts and seeds, will also help everyone feel full longer.

Health Concerns Linked to Quality of Food

The National Food Guide primarily focuses on how much food to eat, but our overall health is more about the quality of food.  When we eat foods that are low in nutrients, we often have to eat more of it to feel satisfied. Over-eating unhealthy, poor-quality foods has resulted in many children and adults lacking the nutrition their bodies need, which has been directly linked to many health diseases and concerns including:

  • Diabetes
  • Heart Disease
  • Obesity

The time to change is now!

Just choosing to make a change is the first step in the right direction.  Changing your mindset and learning how to change is easy when you have help. 

I am a Certified Dr. Sears’ Health Coach specializing in providing Health and Wellness Education classes for individual people, families, groups, gyms, or for corporate wellness programs. I’m certified in two practice areas, one is Families with Children, and the other is Adults and Aging Seniors, both utilizing a science-based curriculum and state-of-the art interactive training sessions. Dr Sears’ model of learning is based on the L.E.A.N program, which consists of L=Lifestyle, E=Exercise, A=Attitude, and N=Nutrition.

L.E.A.N Start Workshops (6 one hour sessions each, in-person) $275

L.E.A.N. Start Activity Books

This 22-page activity book is designed for Parents to use with their children at home. The activity book is filled with fun and interactive activities for young children. It includes coloring pages, games and activities to help you teach your child about good nutrition and important lifestyle choices.

Dr. Sears’ L.E.A.N. Essentials Workshops are fun, interactive and educational classes designed for the busy family or individual who has limited time or are looking for a brief introduction to health and wellness. The workshop is designed to be a fast paced introduction to wellness and covers eight key nutrition and exercise topics including:

  2. Benefits of a brainy breakfast
  3. Identifying good vs bad fats
  4. How much protein children and adults need
  5. Creative activities to get the whole family moving

L.E.A.N. Essentials workshops are two hours long and include direct instruction, group participation, hands-on activities, short video segments, workbooks, and Q&A sessions. Each participant will receive a L.E.A.N. Essentials Workbook that contains nutrition information, fill in the blank areas, and delicious simple recipes like:
